Job Summary:

Ascension Illinois is seeking a Patient Care Specialist to join our team in the Neonatal ICU department. This is a part-time, nights position with every other weekend and occasional holidays. As a Patient Care Specialist, you will be responsible for performing basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.

Responsibilities:

As a Patient Care Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.
  • Aiding with movement and placement of patients.
  • Assisting patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
  • Reporting findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
  • Documenting necessary records.
  • Keeping patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintaining medical equipment.


Requirements:

To be successful as a Patient Care Specialist, you will need:

  • Licensure / Certification / Registration:
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • One or more of the following:
  • Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the Illinois Board Of Division of Emergency Medical Services and Highway Safety obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Practical/Vocational Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Nurse Aide credentialed from the Illinois Department of Public Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Estimated Salary:

The estimated salary for this position is $42,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
