Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that assigned areas are cleaned and disinfected according to departmental procedures.
  • Dust, mop, vacuum, and spot clean carpets, as well as wash walls, ceilings, furniture, and fixtures.
  • Empty trash, restock supplies, and wash and make beds.
  • Set up furniture in conference rooms and maintain housekeeping carts.
  • Restock paper receptacles, replace sharps containers, and order supplies essential to the job.
  • Clean and store equipment properly.
  • Respond to emergency cleaning needs or housekeeping requirements in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with clinical personnel to determine priority of cleaning needs in clinical areas.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of one year formal housekeeping experience preferred; experience in hospital or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Valid driver's license may be required depending on facility assigned to.

Physical and Cognitive Requirements:

  • Work requires moderate physical exertion to include prolonged periods of standing from 34% to 65% of the time.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 50 lbs. or less.
  • Reasonably anticipated exposure to blood and body fluids once per month or more.

Benefits:

This position offers full-time benefits and is represented by a collective bargaining agreement.
