Position Overview
The role of the Procurement Industrial Engineer is pivotal in enhancing the efficiency of our procurement processes. This position entails a thorough analysis of Bill of Materials and engaging in technical dialogues with engineering teams and suppliers to ensure the timely acquisition of parts essential for the production of automotive electronic components.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and implement enhancements to the procurement framework.
- Create analytical tools for procurement assessment.
- Examine design and component specifications meticulously.
- Monitor and assess design and testing protocols along with lead times.
- Establish control systems to guarantee the timely procurement of parts and components.
- Design and execute electronic purchase approvals within the ERP system for effective procurement and inventory management.
- Assess vendor capabilities for production and improvements.
- Foster and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Utilize historical data to refine procurement strategies.
- Develop management control systems to enhance financial planning and cost analysis.
- Analyze and optimize the current supply chain processes.
- Collaborate with design and production teams to streamline procurement and production efficiency.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a relevant field.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experienced in utilizing ERP systems effectively.
- Familiar with industry-standard concepts and practices, capable of working under general supervision.
- Detail-oriented with a strong customer service focus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating accountability.
Successful candidates will exhibit strong organizational skills, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Work Environment
This position requires minimal travel and involves standard office conditions, with occasional physical activity such as lifting up to 25 pounds.
