Senior Counsel Role

Moody's is seeking a highly qualified Senior Counsel to provide support to the Data Solutions and Know Your Customer (KYC) operating units of the company. This position will be based in one of Moody's offices located in New York City, NY, Charlotte, NC, King of Prussia, PA or Omaha, NE.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain contract templates to support partnerships, licensing, and other product-related transactions.
  • Handle drafting and leading negotiations relating to software and data licenses, SaaS product subscriptions, and related service level agreements.
  • Manage a large portfolio of data and software provider contracts that feed into Moody's products.
  • Provide professional legal advice on a wide range of product-related issues impacting such contracts.
  • Develop and maintain contract templates to support the sale of products and services to Moody's customers.
  • Support and carry out Moody's business policies and practices, including preferred contract terms and compromise positions.
  • Work closely with the company's other in-house lawyers, sales operations, and finance staff, as well as product management, support, and delivery teams in KYC and/or Data Solutions.
Requirements
  • Law degree from an accredited law school.
  • Member of a State bar in good standing.
  • 7-10+ years total legal experience, with at least 3 years in a law firm focused on IP licensing/tech transactions, corporate, securities, capital markets, financial services, M&A, or other transactional-based work.
