Job Summary

Biltmore Estate is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Associate to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our estate's public areas, including buildings, gardens, and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Dust, mop, wet mop, and buff all floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets and steps, and change light bulbs inside and outside.
  • Restroom Maintenance: Clean restrooms with a high degree of cleanliness and detail to Biltmore standards.
  • Special Events and Functions: Assist with special events, functions, and projects, such as Christmas candlelight.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to power and water outages, and assist with storm cleanup and emergency clean up.
  • Safety and Security: Maintain a constant awareness of safety and security of self, guests, and co-workers.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least one year of previous custodial, janitorial, and/or maintenance experience.
  • Skills: Outstanding attention to detail, ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team, and ability to safely operate commercial cleaning equipment.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
