Job Overview

Haggerty is seeking a skilled painter to join our Commercial & Restoration Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for painting the interior and exterior of structures, buildings, and other surfaces.

About the Role:

  • Erect scaffolding, moveable and immovable staging, and various rigging to access difficult areas.
  • Select and purchase paint from approved vendors.
  • Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic for protection.

Responsibilities:

As an experienced painter, your primary responsibilities will include preparing walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, and removing old paint. You will also mix paint and other materials to achieve the correct color or texture and apply them according to client and management specifications using various tools. Additionally, you will accurately apply varnish and other finishes, take and adhere to all health and safety precautions, and ensure all construction work performed is of the highest quality.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a painter in the construction industry.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.
  • Knowledge of painting materials, techniques, and safety protocols.

Working Conditions:

You will work primarily outdoors, year-round, in all types of weather conditions. You may need to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods, and you will be required to lift 50-75 pounds and climb various types of ladders. A reliable personal vehicle and a motor vehicle driving record consistent with HCI's standards and policies are essential.
