Mental Health Therapist

Job Summary:

The Therapist will work under the supervision of a licensed independent practitioner to provide individual, family, group, addiction, and other modalities to clients and their families. The Therapist will be responsible for completing bio-psychosocial assessments, preparing comprehensive treatment plans, and providing basic case management services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completing bio-psychosocial assessments and preparing comprehensive treatment plans for each client
  • Providing basic case management services and documenting treatment provided
  • Assessing client needs and re-assessing throughout treatment
  • Completing Master Treatment Plans that are behaviorally specific and with goals and objectives related to client problem areas
  • Providing competent individual, family, couples, group psychotherapy, and substance abuse therapy
  • Providing other therapeutic services within scope of demonstrated competence
  • Providing competent crisis intervention
  • Assisting with case management and interagency coordination of services for clients
  • Providing clinical guidance and interaction with external providers
  • Documenting all client interactions, including sessions with clients, families, and significant others
  • Completing Progress Notes accurately, addressing treatment goals, major clinical issues, and changes in mental health status

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in behavioral health with either NJ LAC or LSW licensure required
  • Two years of experience in a behavioral health setting
  • Ability to conduct therapy sessions in the language of the population served, if applicable

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional years of experience in a behavioral health setting
