Job Summary:

As a Concrete Finisher at S. T. Wooten, you will be responsible for performing a wide variety of technical and physical duties in the placement and finishing of concrete curb, slabs, and structures. This includes operating complex equipment, preparing construction sites, and ensuring the quality of finished concrete products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a variety of complex equipment, including trucks, backhoes, air compressors, and concrete saws, to repair and install concrete.
• Assist with preparation of concrete base, including setting wood forms and positioning steel, measuring and pouring concrete, and finishing concrete.
• Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
• Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards and control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones.
• Mix cement, sand, and water to produce concrete, grout, or slurry, using a variety of tools and equipment.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum of 2 to 3 years experience in concrete finishing, preferably in curb and gutter/sidewalk.
• Ability to work long, flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and extended periods outdoors during all seasons.
• Valid driver's license with a good MVR preferred but not required.

Physical Demands:

This position requires heavy physical effort, including pulling and lifting or moving heavy weight material, and working in a variety of environmental conditions, including noise, dust, heat, cold, and oil.
