Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team at Wisconsin Endo Group. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our endodontic practice. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting our Endodontists during procedures, taking patient x-rays, recording dental histories and patient records, preparing instruments for sterilization, cleaning treatment areas, and ensuring infection control procedures are adhered to.

Responsibilities:

• Review patient schedule and correlating charts one day prior to ensure readiness for treatment.
• Obtain and record medical and dental histories and vital signs of the patient and communicate this information to the doctor.
• Obtain dental radiographs and cone beam scans on patients and report findings to the doctor.
• Provide a high level of patient experience through communicating comfort options, patient education, and treatment expectations.
• Assist dentists in the management of medical and dental emergencies.
• Provide post-operative instructions prescribed by the dentist.
• Maintain clinical notes for patients documenting pertinent information in the patient charts.
• Generate consult and post-operative reports to be sent to referring dentist.
• Collaborate with front and back office to ensure dentists schedules run smoothly and efficiently in addition to communicating treatment plan with Front Desk team.
• Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and procedures.
• Properly close out operatories at the end of shift to assure operatories are clean and restocked and patient ready.
• Maintain dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, and communicating the need to the Manager.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Assist with daily office cleaning responsibilities.

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:
Dental Assistant experience preferred but not required
Knowledge of dental practice and procedures preferred but not required
Knowledge of dental radiographs preferred but not required
Knowledge of dental software programs preferred but not required
