Pathology Specialist

Job Summary

WuXi AppTec is seeking a highly skilled Pathology Specialist to contribute to critical activities within Toxicology, Safety, and Biocompatibility. This role involves study evaluation for nonclinical studies spanning all phases of drug development for pharmaceutical industries. The position offers flexibility to be based in Plainsboro, NJ or Natick, Massachusetts, with the option to work remotely for senior or principal level positions.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct macroscopic and microscopic examination of study samples
Evaluate pathological data and write comprehensive pathology reports
Communicate with sponsors to answer questions and discuss results regarding the pathology report
Provide consultation to Study Directors on studies
Function as a Peer review pathologist, taking part in pathology peer review as SOP and protocol required
Function as a Principle Investigator, responsible for pathology-related activities
Ensure compliance with GLPs, protocols, and SOPs during study activities
Conduct planned, long-term education and training for junior pathologists
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) or equivalent
ACVP Board Certification
2+ years of toxicological pathology experience in the CRO or pharmaceutical industry
Proficient in Oral & Written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Ability to read, write, and understand English
Adaptability, flexibility, and ability to manage changing priorities
Self-responsibility and independence, while being a team player
