Qualifications:
The candidate must hold a valid RN license in the state of Mississippi, have successfully completed an accredited advanced practice nursing program recognized by the Mississippi Board of Nursing, and possess current national certification as a Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Association in Family Practice or a related specialty. Additionally, maintaining certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is required, along with fulfilling all continuing education obligations mandated by the Mississippi Board of Nursing.
Professional Experience:
Completion of the requisite Clinical Practicum hours as stipulated by the Mississippi Board of Nursing is essential. Prior experience in a hospitalist program, medical office, or outpatient clinic is necessary.
Communication and Organizational Skills:
Proficiency in English is mandatory. The candidate should demonstrate effective communication skills suitable for interacting with individuals of all ages and diverse cultural backgrounds. The ability to assess situations, identify challenges, and work towards constructive solutions is crucial. Strong organizational skills to manage data and prioritize tasks effectively are also required.
Mathematical Proficiency:
Candidates must possess the ability to perform basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals without the aid of a calculator. Familiarity with measurement units such as cups, pints, quarts, inches, feet, yards, ounces, and pounds is necessary, along with knowledge of metric system units and their U.S. equivalents. Skills in calculating ratios, rates, and percentages are also important.
Analytical Skills:
The role requires the ability to apply objective reasoning skills when interacting with patients, visitors, and colleagues. Critical thinking abilities are essential, along with reflective judgment that aids in decision-making processes. Candidates should demonstrate the capacity for interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference, ensuring that their judgments are well-founded and contextually relevant.
