Highly Skilled Software Engineer for Critical Cyber and Intelligence Projects

Job DescriptionThis position involves developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex and diverse software systems based upon documented requirements. The successful candidate will work individually or as part of a team, reviewing and testing software components for adherence to design requirements and documenting test results. They will also resolve software problem reports, utilize software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment, and provide specific input to the software components of system design.
The ideal candidate will have eight (8) years of experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope type, and complexity. Alternatively, four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. One (1) year of experience coding in Python is also required.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Front End Development
- UX (mockups) experience
- Coding in Python (SHADOWSCIENCE)
- Analyzing user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
- Debugging existing software and correcting defects
- Providing recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
- Designing and coding new software or modifying existing software to add new features
- Integrating existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments
- Developing simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories
- Writing or reviewing software and system documentation
Amentum offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Eligible employees and their dependents may elect these benefits. Estimated Salary RangeThe base salary range for this position is $170K to $190K. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
