POSITION SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse is responsible for independently planning, executing, and assessing nursing care in various patient care scenarios, adhering to established standards and protocols. This role involves delivering direct nursing care to patients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Additional responsibilities may include:
- Assessing patients, confirming allergies, and evaluating symptoms while utilizing the nursing process to create individualized care plans.
- Administering medications and treatments safely and in accordance with nursing standards.
- Prioritizing and organizing patient care effectively.
- Documenting patient information accurately and in a timely manner, in line with clinic standards.
- Monitoring and reporting on patient conditions and responses to treatments to the medical team.
- Preparing equipment and assisting physicians during patient examinations and procedures.
- Educating patients and families about diagnostic tests, medications, nutrition, and health maintenance.
- Maintaining and reviewing patient records and relevant information in the electronic medical record system.
- Coordinating outpatient procedures and generating referrals as necessary.
- Performing various clinical tasks including blood draws, IV starts, and administering injections.
- Ensuring the integrity of laboratory specimens and conducting timely testing.
- Participating in quality control and proficiency testing for laboratory processes.
- Assisting in the procurement of medical supplies and reagents.
- Cleaning and preparing surgical instruments for sterilization.
- Conducting daily audits of patient charts for accuracy.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- An Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare setting or private practice.
- A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an accredited organization.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications.
