NCH Healthcare System is seeking a skilled Security Professional to join our team in Naples, FL.

This is a full-time opportunity with a variable work schedule.

We offer a competitive salary of $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience.

The Public Safety Officer patrols assigned property and grounds to ensure the safety of building occupants and safeguard institutional property. Additionally, the Public Safety Officer aids individuals that are on NCH grounds in the event of an emergency.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Patrolling hospitals, buildings, grounds, and associated areas to prevent, investigate and document arson, theft, vandalism, and any other criminal activity.
  • Monitoring and responding to security, fire, and environmental alarms. Assist in follow-up as necessary.
  • Responding to emergency calls for assistance and disasters.
  • Investigating unusual incidents reported by NCH staff, visitors, physicians, and patients.
  • Providing excellent customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
  • Normal duties require extensive walking, standing, and/or running.
  • Responding to and resolving problems, disputes, and unusual circumstances as necessary.
  • Coordinating and overseeing operations within the NCH morgues.
  • Handling disruptive individuals with good verbal intervention techniques. Combative individuals may require physical intervention.
  • Completing reports and incident documentation as necessary. Reports must be easy to read and accurate.
  • Controlling evidence, valuables, and lost/found items as necessary.
  • Operating NCH vehicles in accordance with the rules and regulations of the NCH Healthcare System.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in security or law enforcement preferred.
  • A valid Florida driver's license and successfully pass a DMV check.
  • The Basic Security Certification from IAHSS within one year from hire and renewed every 2 years.
  • CPR/AED certification within one year from hire.
  • Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
