Located in the vibrant city of Belen, this Recreation Program Coordinator position plays a vital role in shaping the community's recreational experience.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to coordinate day-to-day operations of our recreation programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning engaging activities, developing new initiatives, and promoting department offerings to enhance the quality of life for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Planning and Development: Coordinate the planning and organization of recreation activities, ensuring they meet the diverse needs and interests of our community members.
  • Community Outreach: Promote department programs through various channels, including social media, local newspapers, and community events, to increase participation and engagement.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with staff, community groups, and external partners to develop and implement marketing strategies that effectively reach our target audience.
  • Administrative Duties: Perform clerical, maintenance, and janitorial tasks as required, including ordering supplies and maintaining equipment inventory.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory; a valid New Mexico driver's license and one year of experience in recreation or community involvement are also required.
  • Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) and Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) certifications are highly desirable.
  • The ideal candidate must be willing to work flexible hours, pass a pre-employment drug test, and undergo a background check.
Physical Demands:

The position involves frequent reading, walking, sitting, and talking, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds and exposure to various weather conditions.

We estimate the salary for this position to be around $45,000 - $55,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
