Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at North Mississippi Health Services. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of laboratory testing and specimen processing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the workflow of phlebotomists in the Specimen Processing area
  • Assume charge of the laboratory in the absence of the supervisor or lead technologist
  • Ensure accurate and efficient transportation of lab-related supplies, equipment, and specimens
  • Follow regulatory guidelines for handling and processing laboratory specimens
  • Effectively communicate with staff, patients, and customers
  • Provide excellent customer service and utilize AIDET as applicable
  • Participate in continuing education programs to maintain and expand skills
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and adhere to NMHS/NMMC policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field
  • ASCP Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist within 12 months of graduation
  • Valid Mississippi Driver's License and acceptable driving record
  • Proficient skills with LIS and good organizational and communication skills
