Care Advocate Nurse

CorVel Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Care Advocate Nurse to join our team. As a Care Advocate Nurse, you will play a vital role in overseeing initiatives surrounding assessing the severity of injured workers' reported injuries, reviewing medical data, validating and securing medical information, and assessing and evaluating the need for treatment of work-related injuries.
This is a remote role, offering the flexibility to work from the comfort of your own home. As a Care Advocate Nurse, you will be responsible for:
- Initiating and receiving telephonic contact with reported injured workers, employers, and medical providers to obtain treatment plans, secure medical documentation, and assess if injured workers have returned to work.
- Documenting detailed information within our claim system, focusing on medical conditions, treatment plans, and return-to-work status.
- Directing callers to appropriate medical and/or claim resources.
- Identifying and communicating urgent situations related to treatment or patient condition directly to the claim team.
- Functioning as a nurse consultant to the claim team.
- Assessing appropriate medical follow-up and making necessary recommendations to the claim team, working closely with the team to identify potential red flags from the injury that may require further follow-up or additional services.
- Adhering to triage production standards and account special handling guidelines.
- Additional projects and duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years clinical nursing experience.
- Graduate of an approved accredited school of nursing.
- Current unencumbered RN Compact State Licensure.
