Clinical Therapist

A PRN clinical therapist is responsible for providing high-quality clinical services to clients. This includes group therapy, individual therapy, psychosocial assessments, and ASAMS for admission. The therapist will also serve as a clinical or billing supervisor for therapists under supervision. This position offers flexible scheduling with daytime, evening, and weekend hours.
Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment/evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of substance use disorders directly to clients of Volunteers of America Mid-States.
- Provide clinical services as needed to individuals/clients on case load (both individual therapy, family therapy and group therapy sessions)
- Maintain billing requirements along with understanding of BHSO, AODE and KY Medicaid Regulations
- Work effectively with referral sources and community partners.
- Provide assessments, case management and referral services to residents (including substance use, behavioral health, job placement and educational programs) as needed.
- Document services through current, complete records in compliance with VOA policy regarding timely documentation.
- Provide crisis counseling on personal, financial, employment, behavioral, crisis and substance abuse matters for residents.
- Advise other staff on treatment matters and coordinate team treatment as appropriate.
- Communicate client concerns, needs or updates in a timely manner to program personnel.
- Monitor and enforce compliance of residents within programs as assigned.
- Complete initial intakes or continued assessments as assigned.
- Complete discharge planning as assigned.
- Maintain a current CPR and First Aid certificate.
- Provide Billing and Clinical supervision, if assigned and applicable
- Other duties assigned.
Requirements:
A Master's degree in social work or a related field AND the accompanying clinical license (CSW, LPCA, LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or LCADC) is required. At least 3 years' experience in mental health or addictions field is also required. This position is therapist for a residential setting that will require some evening and weekend work and/or on-call hours. The ideal candidate will have a reasonable combination of knowledge and skills, including work with mental illness and addiction, use of cognitive behavioral therapies and twelve step facilitation skills, use of community resources and ability to serve as an appropriate role model. Compassion towards people living with behavioral health and substance use issues, and Hepatitis C and HIV/AIDS is also required. Ability to convey respect to the target populations is critical. The candidate must learn and apply agency, personnel and program policies and procedures. Knowledge and understanding of the current treatment modalities and the ability to train and supervise any Social Work Interns is also required.
