About the Role

This position requires a skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide high-quality psychiatric services, including psychopharmacologic interventions, to individuals in the New York City jail system. The ideal candidate will have experience working in correctional settings and be able to navigate complex systems to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating psychosocial data, medical history, nursing assessment, and other relevant information
  • Provide consultation services to non-prescribing mental health staff and medical staff about diagnosis, treatment, and medication needs
  • Maintain accurate records of patient interactions, progress notes, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record
Requirements
  • A valid New York State RN license and current registration, issued by the NYSED
  • Current NP certification, issued by the NYSED
  • At least 3 years of experience working in a behavioral health setting, with a strong focus on patient-centered care
