Job Title: 7th/8th Grade Science Teacher

Barnwell County Consolidated School District is seeking a qualified Science Teacher to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher to teach 7th and 8th grade students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Science education and be able to create an engaging and interactive learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of 7th and 8th grade students
  • Teach Science concepts and skills to students through a variety of methods, including lectures, discussions, and hands-on activities
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Communicate with parents and guardians through regular progress reports and parent-teacher conferences
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and implement school-wide initiatives
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science Education or a related field
  • South Carolina teaching certification in Science Education
  • Experience teaching 7th and 8th grade Science
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a classroom environment with some exposure to environmental conditions. The physical demands of this position are restricted to classroom work requiring the lifting/moving of items weighing up to 25 pounds. Occasional local travel may be required.
