Straight Arrow News is seeking a skilled multimedia editor to enhance our morning digital news production. Our team of reporters and producers requires a video expert capable of crafting polished and engaging news video segments for our website and social media platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile and deliver voiceover and sound-on-tape components for news stories
  • Edit vertical video clips tailored for social media platforms
  • Transform 16x9 video projects into vertical formats
  • Research and source video, images, and audio for inclusion in video projects
  • Make necessary edits and adjustments to recordings in the studio
  • Select and provide standout images for social media and website use

Required Qualifications

  • Expertise in editing video using Adobe Premiere with multiple layers of video, audio, and graphics
  • Strong organizational abilities related to project and media management
  • Proficient computer skills, with the ability to navigate both Windows and Mac systems
  • Solid understanding of visual composition and framing techniques
  • Ability to identify strong, purposeful, and accurate imagery
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to precision in all job aspects
  • Self-motivated and proactive in addressing challenges
  • Familiarity with motion graphics in video production
  • Background in news media preferred, through education or prior work experience
  • Willingness to thrive in a dynamic newsroom environment while maintaining a calm and patient demeanor
