Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the excellence, creativity, and profitability of our dining experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Work with the General Manager to set the direction of the business and develop a plan to drive sales, manage costs, and grow the business
    • Manage the front-of-house staff, including scheduling, employee relations, and disciplinary action
    • Assist with payroll administration and provide timely updates to labor reports and expenses
  • Operations and Service
    • Manage daily reporting of front-of-house labor, including timesheets and sales reports
    • Assist with overseeing and managing the service team to ensure they are performing up to standard
    • Enhance and strengthen guest relationships, recognizing regular guests and VIPs
  • Training and Development
    • Manage upkeep of front-of-house training materials and work collaboratively with the General Manager to ensure service standards are communicated and upheld
    • Participate in training about standardized policies, including HR, fire, hygiene, health, and safety
  • Guest Experience
    • Ensure the entire space looks, smells, and feels great, including lighting, temperature, bathrooms, cleanliness, and seating arrangements
    • Resolve complaints from guests in a polite, friendly manner, escalating issues to the General Manager when necessary
Requirements
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience working in a fine dining restaurant as an Assistant General Manager or in a similar role
  • Restaurant Management Certification or college degree in a related field, preferred
  • Experience with operations management, team management, and team development
  • Proficient in a variety of technology systems, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Google Suite, POS platforms, and reservation management platforms
  • Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the business
  • NYC Food Protection Certificate
  • Willingness to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working environment
  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities with attention to detail
