Position Overview
Our Transportation division is thriving, characterized by a collaborative and supportive team environment that is expanding rapidly. STV is in search of a Transportation Engineer to become part of our dynamic team. This position offers significant potential for career growth, as the selected candidate will support staff and collaborate with other offices, directly influencing the enhancement of our national infrastructure.
The ideal candidate is a team-oriented individual who exhibits confidence and possesses a comprehensive understanding of roadway design principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering expert design services for transportation enhancement projects across various agencies.
- Creating design plans that include horizontal and vertical alignments, cross sections, typical sections, superelevation data, and other roadway detail sheets.
- Ensuring designs comply with ADA Standards.
- Guiding design development and providing technical direction and mentorship to the design team.
- Collaborating with the design team to ensure quality deliverables are achieved within set schedules and budgets, including the preparation of specifications, cost estimates, reports, and final bid packages.
- Assisting in the development of technical and cost proposals.
- Maintaining strong relationships with client technical staff and project managers.
- Participating in project meetings with clients, sub-consultants, and the project team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory.
- Experience with MDOT and municipal clients is advantageous.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in transportation design.
- Proficiency in MicroStation and Inroads/Corridor modeling design software.
- Experience with OpenRoads Designer is a plus.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of AASHTO and local agency design standards is essential.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Compensation Range
$74,000 - $99,054.00
