Position Overview: As a Registered Nurse specializing in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional care to patients undergoing cardiac procedures. Collaborating with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, your focus will be on providing high-quality, patient-focused care while ensuring the safety and comfort of individuals throughout their experience in the cath lab.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, set up, and operate cardiac catheterization equipment and monitoring devices.
  • Administer medications and intravenous therapies as necessary during procedures.
  • Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and cardiac rhythms, performing immediate assessments and interventions as required.
  • Offer emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding the procedures and recovery process.
  • Work in conjunction with interventional cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain precise patient records and document all care activities in line with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
  • Follow infection control protocols and ensure a safe, clean, and sterile environment in the cath lab.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and stay informed about the latest advancements in cardiac care.
  • Assist in the training and orientation of new staff members as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
