Job Summary

Meta is seeking a seasoned Software Engineering Manager to lead high-performing teams and drive technical innovation. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for defining and executing product strategies, managing cross-functional partnerships, and driving business outcomes.

About the Role

This leadership position requires a unique blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and people management skills. You will work closely with our product leaders to develop and execute technical roadmaps, identify and mitigate risks, and drive cultural transformations within the organization.

Responsibilities
  1. Technical Leadership: Be both highly technical and an effective people manager, providing guidance and mentorship to team members.
  2. Product Domain Expertise: Develop in-depth knowledge of a product domain and provide strategic recommendations to stakeholders.
  3. Team Leadership: Lead high-performing teams that deliver multiple projects with increasing dependencies and complexity.
  4. Cross-Functional Partnerships: Collaborate with various functions, drive engineering initiatives, and have a significant impact at an organizational level.
  5. Roadmap Creation and Execution: Work with your team and cross-functional partners to define and influence strategy, drive roadmap creation, and execute on plans.
Requirements
  • 8+ years: software engineering work experience, including hands-on technical management building holistic web-based software solutions, API design, and interactions between servers and clients.
  • Language Proficiency: 8+ years of experience coding in one of the following languages: C++, Java, Python, and/or PHP.
  • Leadership Experience: 2+ years of experience developing, coaching, and managing engineering leaders.
  • Education: BA/BS in Computer Science (In lieu of degree, 4+ years work experience).
  • Demonstrated Experience: recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management.
Compensation and Benefits

$213,000/year to $293,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
