The Registered Nurse in the Perioperative environment is responsible for delivering exceptional patient care during surgical procedures. This role reports directly to the Team Lead Operating Room Manager and the Director of Surgical Services, while maintaining communication with the House Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' health status through various data collection methods, ensuring accurate documentation and timely communication of any abnormalities to the healthcare team.
- Adhere to established protocols for perioperative patients, including consent processes and discharge criteria, while monitoring patients' hemodynamic status and interpreting results accurately.
- Assist surgical teams with procedures, ensuring compliance with Universal Protocol policies and maintaining a sterile environment throughout the surgical process.
- Prepare the surgical suite efficiently, ensuring all necessary instruments and equipment are ready and functioning correctly.
- Demonstrate flexibility in assignments and schedules, contributing to a collaborative team environment to enhance patient care.
Professional Standards:
Maintain a professional demeanor, ensuring effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues. Adhere to all safety and regulatory standards, including infection control protocols and medication administration guidelines. Actively participate in performance improvement initiatives and ongoing education to enhance skills and knowledge in the field.
Qualifications:
Current RN license in the State of Ohio, with BLS and ACLS certifications. Previous experience in an acute care operating room setting is preferred. Strong computer skills and the ability to manage stress in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role.
