As a Senior Data Scientist, you'll play a key role in Pacific Life's growth and long-term success by providing model-driven insights to business partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and implementation of data-driven models and algorithms to enhance the underwriting process.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, actuarial, and technology, to identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation.
Analyze large and complex datasets to extract actionable insights and support decision-making.
Develop predictive models to assess risk and improve underwriting accuracy.
Implement machine learning techniques to automate and optimize underwriting workflows.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data science and machine learning.
Mentor and guide junior data scientists and analysts.
Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear and concise reports and presentations.
Requirements:
Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience (8+ years) as a Data Scientist, preferably in the life insurance or financial services industry.
Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL.
Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Knowledge of life insurance underwriting processes and regulations is a plus.
