Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at PeaceHealth Peace Harbor Medical Center in Florence, Oregon. As a key member of our echocardiography department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic and special procedures ultrasonography, utilizing your expertise in clinical cardiology, acoustic imaging technology, and problem-solving skills to optimize echocardiographic evaluations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform prescribed ultrasound procedures using various equipment to obtain preliminary echocardiographic measurements.
  • Be competent in adult echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, and contrast studies.
  • Follow department imaging protocols, acquire all echocardiographic measurements per protocol, create digital preliminary reports, and verbally communicate findings to interpreting physicians when necessary.
  • Prepare, supply, and equip ultrasound rooms to meet specific cardiologist and physician requirements for procedures.
Requirements
  • Accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound Program required; CAAHEP accredited program preferred.
  • A minimum six months full-time cardiac internship strongly preferred.
  • 1 year experience as cardiac sonographer preferred.
  • Must be ARDMS eligible upon date of hire.
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS-Adult) credential required; new graduates have one year to obtain registration through ARDMS or CCI.
  • Registration required with the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI); must maintain active registry with the OBMI.
  • Required: Basic Life Support.

PeaceHealth requires a completed Primary Vaccine Series (e.g., 2 dose monovalent Pfizer, Moderna or Novavax series or 1 dose J&J vaccine series) or be Up to Date (receiving the most recent Pfizer/Moderna bivalent vaccine/booster) for COVID-19 vaccination prior to their start date.
