UX Specialist

Leidos is seeking a UX Specialist to be part of the mission solution and help lead SSA's Digital Modernization Strategy. As a UX Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and developing user-centered solutions that meet the needs of the Social Security Administration (SSA) and its customers.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team responsible for building the next-generation enterprise APIs and modern responsive user interfaces. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand business goals and user needs, and use your expertise in user-centered design to create innovative solutions.

• Derive business processes and analyze user needs to inform design decisions
• Assist in requirements definition and design browser-based interfaces
• Design and conduct usability testing to ensure user-centered solutions
• Elicit business goals and user needs from stakeholders
• Facilitate customer discovery sessions
• Create Conceptual Models, Journey Maps, Personas, and Scenarios of Use
• Document user requirements, screen designs, and design recommendations

• Minimum of 6 years of direct Interaction/Interface design experience in User-Centered Methods and User Analysis
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics as well as interface with the customer on a daily basis
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
• Contract requirement: Selected candidate must reside within two (2) hours of SSA Headquarters in Woodlawn, MD
• Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site at least 2 days a week

• Experience using Axure RP prototyping software
• Experience with Adobe XD prototyping software
• Experience with Pega and/or ServiceNow platforms
• Understanding of responsive design
• Understanding of Section 508 and its requirements regarding design
• Hold additional UX Certifications such as UX Master Certification (NN/g) or UX Design Immersive (General Assembly)
