We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Quest Diagnostics Incorporated. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine laboratory tests under the direction of senior laboratory personnel, adhering to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality control requirements.
- Conduct moderate complexity testing with specific on-site training and oversight, as needed.
- Support and comply with laboratory policies and procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results.
- Ensure analytical schedules are maintained to meet turnaround times for results, including STATs or critical results to clients.
- Perform and document quality control analysis to ensure accuracy of clinical data and proper instrument function.
- Report any actual or potential deviations from standard or accepted testing procedures and cooperate fully with any investigation of same.
- Review and enter test results into the Laboratory Information System for standardized reporting to physicians.
- Maintain laboratory areas and equipment in a safe, functional, and sanitary condition.
- Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR published in March 14, 1990.
- One to three years of clinical experience preferred.
- Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time, frequent walking and/or standing, and manual dexterity to use a variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments.
- Basic theoretical and operational job knowledge in clinical testing, knowledge of organizational/departmental policies and procedures, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Laboratory Information Systems.
- Associates Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- ASCP Certification preferred.
