Overview of the Role


MedStar Health is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist specializing in Maternal Fetal Medicine.

The Ultrasound Technologist plays a crucial role in conducting diagnostic ultrasound assessments that are essential for further evaluation and treatment.

As part of one of the most extensive healthcare networks in the Baltimore-Washington area, recognized for its commitment to health and wellness, this position offers a significant opportunity for professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist medical professionals in procedures such as needle biopsies, amniocentesis, and renal biopsies by scanning patients, marking the body, determining puncture angles, and ensuring sterile conditions.
  • Produce computer-generated images or films through automated processing and assess their quality.
  • Clearly and accurately communicate and document patient clinical information in both verbal and electronic report formats, while maintaining comprehensive records of examination data and relevant patient information.
  • Manage and return supplies including films, linens, medications, and patient folders.
  • Select and operate diagnostic equipment as required, adjusting technical parameters based on individual patient needs.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in diagnostic imaging or completion of an accredited Ultrasound program (registry eligible) with certification in Diagnostic Sonography by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) within one year.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • ARDMS certification in Diagnostic Sonography preferred within one year.


The compensation for this position is competitive, starting at $59.26.
