Cancer Care Pharmacy Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Intern to join our team at The University of Kansas Health System. As a Pharmacy Intern, you will play a critical role in providing collaborative pharmaceutical care to our patients.
Responsibilities:- Assist in accurate medication order filling, compounding, and record keeping to ensure timely delivery of medications.
- Prepare medications using appropriate technique and equipment, including intravenous admixtures, chemotherapy, total parenteral nutrition, oral unit-dose or prepackaged medications, compounds, and investigational drugs.
- Operate computer systems to accurately input medication orders and obtain necessary patient information.
- Provide excellent customer service and interact with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Assist in maintaining pharmacy inventory and record keeping in accordance with state and federal law.
- Strive to remove barriers in achieving excellent pharmaceutical care by participating in organizational and departmental performance improvement efforts and utilizing effective communication skills.
- Maintain supervisor awareness of personal and team activities affecting the department.
- Report medication errors at appropriate times and maintain a plan for personal development and completion of competency validation records.
- Participate in goal setting and ongoing development of team members.
- Take responsibility for professional development and advancement of learning in the study of pharmacy.
- High School Graduate or GED equivalent.
- Basic typing and word processing ability.
- Pharmacy Intern Registration - State Board of Pharmacy Valid Kansas and/or Missouri.
