Position Summary: The Trailer Mechanic plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and functionality of our fleet by performing maintenance and repairs on trailers and hydraulic systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on trailers, including air brakes and lighting systems.
- Execute repairs and modifications to various trailer types and hydraulic systems.
- Adhere to scheduled shifts and maintain punctuality.
- Actively contribute to workplace safety and health initiatives.
- Participate in mandatory company meetings, including safety briefings.
- Maintain consistent attendance in accordance with company policies.
- Adapt to evolving job responsibilities as business needs change.
Required Skills:
- Proficient in using a variety of vehicle maintenance tools, including hand tools and pneumatic equipment.
- Ability to comprehend and follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Capable of reading and interpreting service manuals and parts documentation.
- Skilled in preparing clear and accurate work orders and completion schedules.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 2-5 years of experience in a transportation or mechanical environment.
- Valid driver's license; CDL B preferred or willingness to obtain CDL training.
- ASE certification and air brakes certification are required.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Must provide own tools for the position.
