About the Role

Cleveland Clinic's Sports Medicine Center is seeking a skilled CT/MRI Scan Technologist Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our radiology department, you will play a vital role in providing top-quality patient care to athletes at various levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assure rooms are set up properly before procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Clean rooms promptly post-procedure, maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Assure patient modesty and comfort, assist patients with changing, and answer call lights as appropriate.
  • Verify patient identification and create patient identification bands, ensuring accurate patient care.
  • Schedule scans and monitor the queue, ensuring timely and efficient imaging services.
  • Verify physician exam orders, assess patient needs, and initiate communication and inpatient flow.
  • Document patient history, conditions, and pertinent information on requisition/history sheets and ensure accurate data entry.
  • Acquire, archive, transmit, and print images via PACS, adhering to radiation and MRI safety guidelines.
  • Operate equipment properly and with care, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Maintain ethical and professional relationships with all customers, demonstrating cooperative efforts with coworkers and the ability to accept constructive criticism.
  • Assess patient readiness and need for learning, considering diversity and inclusion aspects.
  • Determine the best methodology to deliver education and receive verbal feedback or return demonstration to validate learning.
  • Provide verbal and/or written instructions for tests/procedures, diagnoses, and discharge when appropriate.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED with an emphasis on communication, computer skills, and science courses.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at certain sites/departments but preferred for all.
  • One year of experience in a healthcare-related field.
  • Current radiology students are eligible.
  • Broad knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
Physical Requirements

This role requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Standing and walking for extensive periods are also required.

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
