Job Summary

PacifiCorp is seeking a skilled Communications Technician to maintain and install voice and data communications equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Company communications systems and be able to troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair voice and data communications equipment, including light wave, microwave, radio, SCADA, and associated switching or termination equipment.
  • Direct the work of an Assistant Communications Technician when assigned.
  • Responsible for vehicles, tools, and materials supplied by the Company for use in this position.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • An FCC (GROL) license or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Communication Technician with experience in the responsibilities noted above.
  • Good driving record.
  • Pass a written and practical test.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two-year college, technical degree, or military training in electronics.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Communication Technician in the utility industry.
