Key Responsibilities of the Live Music Curator include:

  • Utilizing various formats such as vinyl, CD, or MP3, along with a range of equipment including turntables, mixers, microphones, and amplifiers. Access to personal equipment and software is essential.
  • Curating and mixing tracks in bars or clubs to establish an engaging atmosphere and keep patrons dancing.
  • Creating a diverse array of playlists and music mixes tailored to the venue's ambiance and audience preferences.
  • Staying informed about current music trends.
  • Exhibiting strong interpersonal skills and a good sense of humor while interacting with the public.
  • Engaging with the crowd and encouraging participation in venue activities for enhanced entertainment value.
  • Possibly managing lighting and visual effects synchronized with the music.
Qualifications for the Live Music Curator:
  • A minimum of one year of experience performing live, particularly in DJing for events, parties, or nightclubs. Technical training or education is preferred. Must be at least 21 years old and fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills are crucial for effective interaction with guests, staff, and third parties, reflecting positively on the venue and brand.
  • Proficient reading and writing skills are necessary for identifying specific music tracks and responding to guest requests.
  • Basic mathematical skills are frequently utilized.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays is required.
The Live Music Curator position demands the ability to:
  • Exhibit meticulous attention to detail.
  • Lift or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Handle various objects, including microphones, cables, and sound system equipment.
  • Perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Navigate the entire facility safely and efficiently.
