Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Microbiologist to join our team at Yoh for a contract opportunity in San Jose, CA.

This position will be based in a major in vitro diagnostics company and requires a candidate with a strong background in microbiology, preferably with a B.S. in Microbiology and 3+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 1 year of experience in a related field.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing and documenting experiments, analyzing data, and presenting results. They will work in cross-functional teams to ensure that the studies performed meet all necessary regulatory and quality standards for in vitro diagnostic (IVD) products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in projects related to product stability and analytical studies.
  • Follow protocols and SOPs pertaining to 510K FDA applications.
  • Monitor and analyze data on a daily basis and present weekly reports.
  • Coordinate with other teams and departments to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Create and present reports on conducted experiments, failure investigations, and validations to upper management.
  • Participate in regular lab operations, including running experiments, maintenance, and routine tests.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Microbiology with 3+ years of relevant experience or Master's degree with 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with strong product development background and proven proficiency in data analysis, study design, and troubleshooting system issues.
  • Experience in the development and validation of clinical diagnostic and susceptibility assays for infectious disease.
  • Strong organizational skills, decision-making, communication, teamwork, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance or oversight as well as in tandem with all levels of corporate personnel.
