Position Summary:
This role typically reports to a senior program manager and encompasses the oversight, planning, and technical performance of one or more established engineering programs at a designated location. The successful candidate will manage programs characterized by well-defined plans and methodologies, leading all phases from inception to delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all stages of the program lifecycle, from conceptualization to completion, ensuring alignment with quality, business, and financial goals.
- Develop and coordinate program plans tailored to meet the needs of a single customer.
- Collaborate with technical teams and executive management to set and implement annual and long-term objectives.
- Engage with engineering teams to establish design criteria and manage product research, development, testing, and integration.
- Serve as the primary contact for program-related issues, facilitating resolution of technical and scheduling challenges.
- Influence the preparation of proposals, business plans, and financial terms of contracts.
- Ensure the recruitment and development of top-tier management and technical talent to maintain technical excellence.
- Act as the main customer liaison for program activities, leading review sessions to discuss performance metrics.
- Identify program challenges and provide leadership in crafting solutions, including resource reallocation.
- Contribute to the exploration of new business opportunities and partnerships that enhance organizational capabilities.
- Safeguard proprietary technology and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Qualifications:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in engineering, science, or a related technical field, alongside nine or more years of progressively complex program administration experience, with at least five years in a managerial capacity. Equivalent experience may substitute for formal education.
Demonstrated expertise in program management principles and leadership skills, including effective organization, planning, and coordination to meet established deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
Must possess a customer-focused mindset, capable of working independently and within a team, with the flexibility to travel as needed. Ability to obtain and maintain DOD SEC clearance is required.
Compensation:
Salary range is competitive, reflecting experience and qualifications. Travel may be required, and relocation assistance is available.
