Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Emergency Department team as an EMS Coordinator. As a key member of our team, you will provide clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive efficient care in a high-acuity setting.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the offloading of EMS patients during scheduled shifts, ensuring seamless transitions and efficient care.
- Collaborate with EMS partners to foster a culture of teamwork and improved patient outcomes.
- Assist in managing department flow by coordinating with the Clinical Nurse Coordinator.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements related to EMS offloading.
- Develop and implement training programs for relief EMS RNs.
- Ensure proper patient handoffs to receiving RNs for continuity of care.
- Function as a clinical resource for staff members and provide education on nursing best practices.
- Maintain equipment in the EMS offload area and participate in quarterly educational events.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Critical Care or Emergency Department setting.
- Preferred prehospital work experience.
- Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or compact licensure.
- Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
- Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
- American Heart Association ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
- American Heart Association PALS and/or ENPC certifications required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
- Current NIHSS certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
