Job Summary:

Tesla is seeking a skilled Collision Damage Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our Body Repair department, you will play a critical role in supporting the repair of our cutting-edge electric vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed repair estimates for collision-damaged Tesla vehicles, focusing on technical estimating rather than sales.
  • Develop repair plans in accordance with Tesla's specific repair procedures, ensuring the highest quality standards.
  • Direct disassembly technicians to efficiently expose all damages, promoting a thorough understanding of the repair requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with insurance companies to submit claims and billing, ensuring seamless processing.
  • Direct Collision Technicians to perform repair attempts where the Repair vs. Replace decision is unclear, promoting efficient and effective repair processes.
  • Keep customers informed about vehicle progress, maintaining open and transparent communication.
  • Close billing and deliver vehicles to customers, ensuring a smooth and satisfying experience.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in automotive collision damage estimating.
  • Knowledge of insurance procedures and requirements.
  • Proficiency in Computers, as well as CCC, Audatex, or Mitchell Estimating Software.
  • Automotive knowledge and background, with a willingness to be cross-trained in career-advancing management roles as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • I-CAR certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
