Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Forklift Operator to join our team at OFI. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for safely operating sit-down forklifts to load and unload material, product, bins, and pallets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Locate and transport full or empty bins, pallets of finished product, packaging supplies, and/or equipment to specified areas.
  • Perform daily forklift checks on assigned forklifts.
  • Transport raw and processed product to production workstations.
  • Maintain and update records of inventory and activity logs.
  • Use inventory scanners to log product in and out of warehouses.
  • Pick orders from inventory using a pick sheet.
  • Shrink wrap pallets to prepare them for shipping.
  • Follow all company safety, hygiene, and work rules.
  • Complete certified forklift safety training as required.
  • Maintain the company's commitment to providing quality products and services with an emphasis on Food Safety, legality, and integrity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Valid forklift certification is required.
  • Two (2) years previous forklift experience in sit-down forklift is required. Previous experience should include stacking bins.
  • Previous work experience in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and written, is required. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, overtime and weekends during harvest season is required.
  • Individual should be self-motivated with attention to detail.
  • Previous knowledge of the following programs and regulations pertaining to a food processing plant is preferred:
    • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
    • Food Safety
