The Communication Architectures Department (CAD) performs trade studies, analyses, and simulations to optimize communications performance. Our engineers guide the development of spectrum regulations and policies to ensure critical wireless systems have access to necessary resources. We're looking for a highly skilled Spectrum Engineer Specialist to analyze and shape next-generation communication architectures, requirements, and space policy for customers like the Department of Defense and National Reconnaissance Office.
Main-mission communication satellites, wideband links, command and telemetry, and terrestrial networks are within the domain of the Communication Technologies and Engineering Division (CTED). Our corporate customers work directly with CTED's engineers to ensure robust and resilient communication from architecture to implementation.
This hybrid work model position will be partially remote with some onsite work required in El Segundo, CA. Your responsibilities will include analyzing radio frequency interference, providing analysis and evaluations of national and international spectrum policy activities, surveying trends in spectrum usage, and assessing satellite and ground system performance.
- Analyze and study next-generation communication architectures, requirements, and space policy.
- Perform radio frequency interference analysis to promote spectrum sharing and resolve contention issues.
- Provide analysis and evaluations of national and international spectrum policy activities.
- Survey and identify trends in spectrum usage and develop new communication architectures.
- Assess satellite and ground system performance, communications links, and wireless network protocols.

Requirements
- Mastery of Electrical Engineering or related STEM discipline from an accredited university.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- 0-1 years of industry experience.
- Coursework or prior project experience in communication systems, architectures, and networks.
- A U.S. security clearance is required; citizenship is necessary to obtain one.
