Role Overview: The Professional Class A Truck Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a semi-truck and trailer. This role involves delivering materials to clients while exemplifying the highest standards of professionalism and courtesy, acting as a key representative of Farwest.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering materials punctually and maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Build strong relationships with personnel at customer locations to optimize time management and facilitate information exchange.
- Conduct accurate pickups of backhauls and fabricated materials, ensuring all items are in good condition and correctly accounted for.
- Assist warehouse operations with loading and unloading tasks to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Adhere to federal regulations by maintaining equipment for safe operation, both on and off the road, and performing necessary equipment checks.
- Maintain an accurate electronic logbook and ensure compliance with all licensing and medical requirements.
- Collaborate with sales staff to share insights that can improve customer service and delivery timelines.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid Class A CDL license for trailer operation.
- Demonstrated good driving record with experience in tractor/trailer driving.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, along with understanding both written and verbal instructions.
- Competence in performing basic mathematical calculations.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment, treating customers with respect and professionalism.
