Job Summary

RSI (Residential Services, Inc.) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing compassionate care and support for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area of Orange County.

We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our care team, supporting adults with IDD in a group home environment. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and overall well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with daily tasks such as personal care, hygiene, and administering medication.
  • Monitor and address any medical or behavioral needs that occur during the day, following established guidelines.
  • Create a positive, empowering environment by encouraging residents to engage in social, recreational, and skill-building activities.
  • Keep accurate and timely records of observations, incidents, and actions.
  • Work closely with case managers, healthcare professionals, and families to provide well-rounded care.
  • Maintain a safe, clean living space by performing light housekeeping and conducting regular safety inspections.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience with individuals with IDD or in a caregiving role is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work with people from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Ability to stay calm, compassionate, and patient in difficult situations.
  • Basic understanding of healthcare practices, with a willingness to learn more.
  • Dependability and the ability to work independently are essential.
Work Schedule

We offer various shift options, including:

  • Monday-Friday 7 AM - 3 PM
  • Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday: 2:30 PM - 9 PM (with 8 AM - 8 PM on weekends)
  • Overnight shifts: 11 PM - 9 AM
  • Part-time positions available with flexible scheduling, including weekends and weekdays.
