Job Title: Telecommunications Lineman Specialist

The Aerial Construction Lineman performs routine and preventative aerial construction on coax and fiber plant, including green field and brown field construction, splicing and activation. This role may also involve performing pole transfers, installing risers, and assisting other crews as needed.

About the Job:
This is a full-time position that requires working in various conditions, including exposure to outside elements such as rain, snow, sleet, and heat. The successful candidate must be able to climb poles and work at heights, and must have manual dexterity and the ability to utilize various hand tools and test equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow established construction processes and comply with all local, state, and federal laws, as well as BTS Cable and customer requirements.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on coax and fiber plant.
• Splice and activate cables using field strength meters, optical test equipment, and other specialized tools.
• Repair cables in emergency situations, including working on stand-by for extended periods.
• Complete and report test point measurements for plant activation and repair.
• Communicate effectively with various departments and individuals to ensure proper cable construction and repair.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Electronics coursework preferred.
• Certification in gaffing/pole climbing skills preferred.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record required.

Estimated Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
