Job Description
">As a Senior ICU Nurse Practitioner on our Med/Surg D3N night shift, you will play a vital role in caring for patients with complex medical conditions. Your primary responsibilities will include:
">- Implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, performing treatments, procedures, and special tests, and documenting treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.">
- Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.">
- Assessing and evaluating patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.">
- Applying sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.">
- Providing primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.">
- Administering over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.">
- Collaborating with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.">
- Directing and guiding ancillary personnel and maintaining standards of professional nursing.
You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care coordination and excellent patient outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
">To be successful in this role, you will need:
">- A graduate degree from an accredited nursing program, such as a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree.">
- A current NYS Registered Nurse license.">
- Obtained and maintained certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).">
- A minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care, preferably.">
- Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.">
- Knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques, with the ability to apply them in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement.
