We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Manager to lead our Crisis Stabilization Unit at Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing supervision and coordination of psychiatric and medical services to clients with various mental health and substance use disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee nursing staff and support the staff psychiatrist in medication management, crisis intervention, and counseling services.
- Conduct rapid assessments, crisis interventions, and medication administration to address acute symptoms and prevent hospitalization.
- Develop and implement health policies to ensure compliance with medical regulations and promote the safety and well-being of our program clients.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and support services to clients.
- Monitor and analyze data to identify areas for quality improvement and risk management.
- Registered Nurse with one year of behavioral health experience, including some supervisory experience.
- Ability to register to practice as a QMHP-A trainee within the first 30 days of employment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively plan, supervise, and evaluate staff performance.
- Comprehensive knowledge of psychiatric nursing theories and practices, including proficiency in administering psychotropic medications and conducting interviews and providing counseling.
