Nurse Circulator

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Operating Room Nurse to join our team at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a safe and efficient surgical experience.

• Provide professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures
• Coordinate care planning with other disciplines to ensure seamless patient care
• Function as the nursing leader of the surgical team, promoting harmonious relationships among physicians and nursing personnel
• Responsible for circulating in the room assigned, ensuring proper positioning of patients and skin preparation
• Responsible for meticulous observance of aseptic technique by all groups (medical and nursing)
• Responsible for completion of sponge count, needle count, and instrument count when indicated
• Complete patient charges and nursing notes
• Responsible for seeing that specimen is properly cared for
• Must be able to take call and keep the OR supervisor informed of nursing and staff problems

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current RN Arkansas license with the Arkansas State Board of Nursing
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification within one year
• CNOR certification, though not required, is a benefit

• Must be able to communicate with physicians, all levels of hospital personnel, patients, visitors, and families
• Pass pharmacology test given by NARMC with a score of 80% or above
• Post-orientation, demonstrate knowledge as to patient care, medications, ability to recognize emergency situations, and take appropriate actions
• Knowledge of methods peculiar to OR nursing or complete on-the-job training
• Will not function as RN-circulating capacity until approved by OR supervisor
• Knowledge of hospital and OR policies and procedures
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
