Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Program Director, including organizing meetings, managing communications, and maintaining documentation related to program initiatives.
  • Policy Formulation: Assist in the creation and enhancement of cybersecurity policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory mandates.
  • Service Coordination: Oversee the delivery of centralized cybersecurity services to meet the evolving needs of state agencies, following assessments to identify specific requirements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate meetings, workshops, and communications with both internal and external stakeholders to promote collaboration and information sharing in support of program goals.

Compliance Oversight:

  • Ensure adherence to statewide information technology policies and standards, regularly monitoring compliance and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Performance Reporting: Establish and maintain reporting systems to track program effectiveness, evaluate organizational maturity, and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
  • Advocacy and Representation: Represent the program at meetings, conferences, and other relevant events, effectively communicating objectives and addressing agency-specific cybersecurity concerns.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing program effectiveness, incorporating feedback and best practices.
  • Risk Assessment: Support the coordination of cybersecurity assessments, review security architecture, and facilitate remediation efforts for identified vulnerabilities.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with various departments to promote the use of centralized cybersecurity services and align efforts with broader organizational objectives.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, including a minimum of 3 years in implementing assessment and remediation strategies.
  • 3 years of experience in Information System Security Management.
  • 2 years of program management experience.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing cybersecurity policies and procedures.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical skills to assess complex security challenges and devise effective solutions.

Specialized Knowledge:

  • Thorough understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework).
  • Experience in tracking service adoption and implementing centralized cybersecurity solutions.
  • Proficiency in developing strategic plans and business cases for cybersecurity initiatives.

Required Credentials:

  • Graduate degree or certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA.
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity regulations and best practices.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
  • Project management expertise, including planning and monitoring cybersecurity service delivery.
  • Experience managing large-scale cybersecurity projects through all phases.
  • Ability to coordinate teams and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Familiarity with regulations related to cybersecurity and privacy.
