Job Summary:

As a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at Upstate University Hospital, you will work closely with anesthesiologists to develop and implement anesthetic plans for patients. Your responsibilities will include conducting pre-anesthetic assessments, providing continuous observation and care, and ensuring patient stability and safe transfer to the PACU or ICU. You will also be responsible for managing emergency situations, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and maintaining confidentiality of patient information.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement anesthetic plans under the direction of anesthesiologists
  • Conduct pre-anesthetic assessments and evaluations
  • Provide continuous observation and care to patients
  • Manage emergency situations, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, a license to practice as a RN in New York State, and a minimum of one year of experience in an acute care setting. You will also need to have completed an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program and passed the national certification examination. Current ACLS, PALS, and BLS certification through the American Heart Association is also required.

Work Environment:

You will be working in multiple locations, including the Adult and Pediatric OR at University Hospital, Cancer Center, and several one-day surgery centers affiliated with the hospital.
